How To: Non Toxic Coffee And Tea

Updated: Aug 27

COFFEE:

  • Here is my list of reasons why you want to avoid conventional coffee (yes, even Starbucks ☠️):

    • mold in coffee beans

    • pesticides used in the growing process of coffee beans

    • carcinogens if the beans are burnt

    • plastic takeout cups

    • plastic coming in contact with hot water in coffee machines

    • preservatives and high sugar content in most “fast” coffee places

  • If you are buying coffee on the go, choose a small, local shop and bring your own cup.

  • The BEST choice is to make your coffee at home!

  • Look for organic, pesticide free coffee (Purity coffee is my fave - we love the CALM blend - use my code ORGANIMAMA20 if you are a new customer for 20% off)!

TEA:

  • Always avoid tea bags, as most are made from nylon and shed microplastics into your tea.

  • Conventional teas are sprayed with pesticides.

  • Look for organic, loose leaf teas.

  • The best is Michelle’s Well (her newest restock is currently available for the next couple days) and my code is KRISTEN for 10% off your order over $50!
